We have received a response to our petition on behalf of the Home Office from the Minister of State for Policing and the Fire Service, Nick Hurd MP.
Although the letter was supportive and included a personal note from the MP, it was mainly an outline of government policy which, by the time we received it, was mostly out of date having been superseded by this publication.
In response I have asked our MP Alan Campbell to clarify what the government means, in this latest announcement, when saying that doctors can prescribe medicinal cannabis to patients with “exceptional clinical need” since we currently have no idea as to whether this will mean that William will be eligible.
We are now waiting on a response to this question and for a response to our petition from the Health Secretary.
