More Ketogenic Diet & Childhood Brain Tumour Research

This paper was presented recently at an international childhood brain tumour conference (ISPNO2018):

“Lockwood G, Apte J, Ivanov D, Parr R, Walker DA, Storer LCS and Grundy RG (2018) TBIO-09. In vitro evaluation of the potential of glucose restriction as an adjuvant therapy for paediatric brain tumours. Neuro-Oncology 20 (Supplement 2) i82”

It was presented by Lisa Storer from the Childhood Brain Tumour Research Centre (CBTRC) – the research centre which is carrying out the CBD Research Project into William’s tumour type.

Excitingly, Lisa had a number of conversations from which there was found to be much interest from other centres in opening a Ketogenic Diet trial.

Hopefully this will all continue to give parents of children with brain tumours the confidence they need to consider putting their child on the diet and also lead to more funding for support since, especially with children, the diet should only be done under the guidance of a professional.
