Cannabidiol (CBD)

Background

There is no doubt that there is increasing interest within the scientific community in cannabinoids, which make up cannabis, as a potential treatment option for cancer sufferers

Due to the non-desirable effects of some cannabinoids, particularly Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), there has been a shift towards researching non-psychoactive and legal cannabinoids such as Cannabidiol (CBD)

It is CBD that we have been giving to William. It is this, we believe (perhaps along side the Ketogenic Diet), that may have had such an impressive impact on William’s tumour

Due to different cancers being so unique, although there are studies being carried out in other tumours, even other brain tumours, research needs to be carried out into the effect of CBD on specific tumour types. At present there have been no studies carried out into the effect of CBD on Ependymoma

As a result of the above we proposed a Research Project
