After Friday’s Three Peaks Challenge, Make William Well and Colas’ total amount raised for the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre currently stands at £4,785.43 (before Gift Aid)!!!
A massive thank you to all those who were involved – from GAP Vehicle Hire who lent us two fully fueled mini-buses to all those who took part, not forgetting all the individuals and organisations who sponsored us – please like and share to try and get us to £5,000 – donations can still be made at our JustGiving Page
It was by no means easy as some of the photos below will show although we worked hard as a team and (just) made it within the twelve hours – I couldn’t have asked for a better team of friends and colleagues to do this challenge with.
GAP Vehicle Hire were instrumental in making this happen for us and the added bonus of two full tanks of fuel was massively appreciated
We started our walk at the Horton In Ribblesdale car park… with a fantastic weather forecast for the day ahead
Pen-Y-Ghent
Top of Pen-Y-Ghent – the first climb was a shock to the system to many of us (especially those of us carrying more than one rucksack ;-))
With the second mountain (Whernside) to the right and third one (Ingleborough) to the left, the enormity of what we have ahead of us starts to sink in… Spirits still high as we approach the midpoint between Pen-Y-Ghent and Whernside
A well-earned lunch break before we start the long-haul up to Whernside
Whernside
The Viaduct proves to be too-tempting a photo-opportunity…
Half-way up Whernside and as well as it’s summit you can see those of of Pen-Y-Ghent, and Ingleborough on the distant horizons
Top of Whernside and a well earned selfie stick photo
…and I decide to hover for my snack…
…before a group shot at the summit
Descent of Whernside (harder for some of us than the ascent!) with Ingleborough in the background
Ingleborough
Ingleborough outline looking more and more imposing…
Hey Hey, a stretch of asphalt!!!
A bit of entertainment in the form of para-gliders much appreciated as we started the long-slog up to Ingleborough
Nearing the top and looking back you can just about make out the outlines of Whernside and Pen-Y-Ghent
Ingleton Conquered
Job done!
Route taken…
…and elevation gained…
