We have just had the results of a second scan since William started to improve. They showed a further reduction in the size of his tumour. Having been told 6 months ago that William would likely not make it to Christmas, we are now looking forward to a very precious family Christmas.
It is difficult to restrain our optimism for the future given the number of setbacks we have had and we are slowly starting to begin to think about contemplating a return to normal life. All being well William will be starting a couple of half days a week at school come the New Year – there won’t be a dry eye in the house once he dons his school uniform!
Although it’s difficult to say for sure, we are convinced that William’s improvement is due in part to his new diet. There is another treatment we have been using, currently outside of the NHS and all being well we are hopeful that there will be some developments, ultimately resulting in a more widely available treatment option.
We can’t be too specific at this point and don’t want to get too excited, but please watch this space if you would like to help us in fundraising activities/ raising awareness in the New Year.
